A trio of studies highlights public health and environmental impacts that could worsen under the Trump administration’s deregulatory blitz.

The number of avoidable asthma attacks could soar due to EPA’s Clean Air Act rollback spree, a liberal-leaning advocacy group concludes in a new overview.

Another emerging air quality threat is President Donald Trump’s ambition to revitalize American manufacturing, according to two environmental groups that in a second report urge the wholesale electrification of the boilers that power factories and other plants.

And in a third study focused on papermakers, another advocacy organization finds that — because of a reporting loophole — the sector’s greenhouse gas emissions are far higher than previously disclosed.

Taken together, the three recently released reports outline a status quo that was worrisome even before Trump took office, but could now worsen significantly depending on the success of his deregulatory drive.
